Ingredients
For the Tomato Topping
- 5 ripe Roma tomatoes, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
For the Bread
- 1 French baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 2-3 tbsp olive oil for brushing
- Optional: 1 clove garlic, halved for rubbing on the toast
Instructions

Prepare the Tomato Mixture
In a medium bowl, combine diced tomatoes, minced garlic, basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let sit for at least 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld. -
Toast the Bread
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil.
Bake for 8–10 minutes, until lightly golden.
Optional: Rub each warm toast with a halved garlic clove for extra flavor. -
Assemble the Bruschetta
Spoon the tomato mixture generously onto each toasted slice just before serving to keep the bread crisp. -
Serve Immediately
Garnish with a drizzle of olive oil or balsamic glaze if desired.
