Blue Cheese Burger

Blue Cheese Burger

This Blue Cheese Burger is rich, juicy, and packed with bold flavor. A perfectly seasoned beef patty is topped with creamy, tangy blue cheese that melts slightly over the meat, creating a restaurant-quality burger that’s easy to make at home.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

4 oz blue cheese, crumbled

4 burger buns

Lettuce, tomato, and red onion (optional)

Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

Prepare the Patties
Gently mix ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Form into 4 equal patties, slightly wider than the buns.

Cook the Burgers
Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side, flipping once.

Add Blue Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with crumbled blue cheese. Cover briefly to help it soften and melt slightly.

  1. Toast the Buns
Lightly butter and toast buns until golden.

  2. Assemble & Serve
Place burgers on buns and add desired toppings. Serve immediately.

Notes

Cooking Tips

  • Don’t overwork the beef to keep burgers tender and juicy.

  • Use cold cheese so it softens without completely melting away.

  • Rest the burgers for 2 minutes after cooking to retain juices.

  • For extra flavor, brush patties lightly with Worcestershire sauce before cooking.

Variations

  • Bacon Blue Cheese Burger: Add crispy bacon strips for smoky crunch.

  • Caramelized Onion Blue Burger: Top with slow-cooked caramelized onions.

  • Blue Cheese Stuffed Burger: Place cheese inside the patty instead of on top.

  • Spicy Blue Burger: Add sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.

  • Lettuce-Wrap Version: Skip the bun for a low-carb option.
