Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed and patted dry
1-2 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp grated Parmesan (plus more to taste)
1 tsp garlic powder (or 1 small garlic clove, finely minced)
1/2 tsp salt (start with less if your Parmesan is salty)
1/4 tsp black pepper
Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes, lemon wedges, or 1 tsp lemon zest
Instructions
Preheat air fryer to 380°F for 2–3 minutes (if your model recommends preheating).
Season: In a bowl, toss green beans with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Air fry: Add beans to the basket in a single layer (cook in batches if needed). Cook 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway, until crisp-tender with a few blistered spots.
Finish: Immediately toss with Parmesan (and lemon zest or a squeeze of lemon if using). Serve hot.
Notes
Cooking tips
-
Dry the beans well so they blister instead of steaming.
-
Don’t overcrowd the basket—airflow = crispier beans.
-
Add Parmesan at the end for the best flavor (it can burn if added too early).
-
For extra crunch, cook 1–2 minutes longer, watching closely.
Variations
-
Lemon Garlic: Use fresh minced garlic + finish with lemon zest and juice.
-
Spicy: Add red pepper flakes or a pinch of cayenne.
-
Italian Herb: Toss with 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning and a sprinkle of extra Parmesan.
-
Breadcrumb Crunch: After cooking, toss with 1–2 tbsp toasted panko + Parmesan.
-
Balsamic Finish: Drizzle with 1–2 tsp balsamic glaze right before serving.
