Instructions
Slice the chicken breasts horizontally to create 4 thin sandwich fillets. Pound slightly if needed to make them even thickness.
2. MarinateIn a bowl, combine buttermilk and hot sauce. Add the chicken fillets and marinate for 10–30 minutes for extra tenderness.
3. Prepare the Breading StationSet up three bowls:
Bowl 1: Flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, cayenne
Bowl 2: Egg, beaten
Bowl 3: Panko breadcrumbs
Remove chicken from the marinade and dredge in:
Seasoned flour
Egg wash
Panko breadcrumbs
Press breadcrumbs firmly so they adhere well.
5. Air FryPreheat air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
Place fillets in the basket in a single layer. Lightly spray with cooking spray.
Cook for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway, until the coating is golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
6. Assemble the SandwichPlace crispy chicken fillets on toasted buns and add lettuce, tomato, pickles, and sauce.
